Meet HelpLine Staffer Barbie Kurkul
Barbie has been working as an Information Assistance and Referral Specialist for Senior Solutions since February of 2020. She came on just as the COVID pandemic hit and offices were closing – but she committed to being in the office on a regular basis.
$20,000 Grant Secured to Expand Pet Programming!
In March 2022, Senior Solutions was awarded a $20,000 grant from Meals on Wheels America and PetSmart Charities to expand our existing Foxy Fund for veterinary care and pet food and supplies for our Meals on Wheels recipients.

This month we pay tribute to Barbara Woods, retiring member of the Senior Solutions Board of Directors and recent past president. Barbara has been a member of the Board of Directors since 2017 and served as president from October 2018 through September 2021.
Grant funds available for organizations who provide “Aging Services”

Two years ago, after she retired and moved to Vermont full-time, Teri Heck wanted to get involved with people in her community. She has always enjoyed spending time with older folks, so she sought a volunteer opportunity that would enable her to support them.

“Black River 100%” Campaign Launches for Cavendish, Ludlow, and Plymouth
During the month of March, Senior Solutions is partnering with two other organizations – the Black River Good Neighbors Services and the Black River Valley Senior Center – to strengthen each household in these communities during the months ahead.

Veterans Advisory Councils Launched
Two Veterans Advisory Councils (VAC) have been established by Senior Solutions as part of the AmeriCorps Aging in Place Planning Grant. One of them is in Windham County and the other is in Windsor County.
