Many Thanks to our Wonderful Volunteers

During a time when there is a nationwide shortage of volunteers, Senior Solutions Home Visitor programs are fortunate to have a dedicated team of 50 volunteers. Our volunteers make weekly telephone calls to lonely and frequently housebound older adults, pay regular visits to their recipients, and engage them in activities ranging from going for a walk or out to lunch to playing cards or chatting over a cup of coffee. Our Veteran volunteers offer camaraderie to their vet buddies and our Errands volunteers provide transportation to the grocery store and medical appointments. Our Respite volunteers give caregivers an essential break from their responsibilities of caring for loved ones with cognitive impairments and other debilitating conditions.

Last year, our team of volunteers provided 5,347 hours of service to 180 older adults in Windham and Windsor Counties. Senior Solutions’ Board of Directors, Advisory Board and staff can’t thank this wonderful group of people enough for all they do to support their older neighbors and brighten their lives.

If you’d like to join our team of volunteers, please contact Valerie Stuart at vstuart@seniorsolutionsvt.org or by calling her at 802-633-0222.
