Director’s Note: Thank you for your support!

What a terrific celebration of our 50th anniversary we had at the Senior Prom on April 28. The outpouring of support was a testament to our strong relationships throughout the communities we serve. We are enormously grateful to Springfield Hospital, Mt Ascutney Hospital and Health Center, the Richards Group and many others for their sponsorship of this celebration.

The evening was a festive mixture of cheerful conversation, tasty hors d’oeuvres and dinner, exciting fundraising activities and lively dancing, thanks to the splendid jazz standards played by the Moonlighters jazz band under the direction of Janet Hewes. And the staff planning committee outdid themselves with the decorations.

Senior Solutions has evolved through many iterations over the past 50 years. Looking ahead, there are more important changes on the horizon. The landscape of providing services for older Vermonters is significantly different from many years ago and demands that we continuously seek out creative ways to meet the increasing needs. We are finding new ways to generate revenue, such as this event, and expanding our collaboration with community partners to strengthen the network of available services.

We are also working closely with the other area agencies on aging to speak with one voice when it comes to advocacy and the importance of the services we provide. This unanimity is critical as we strive to establish the Vermont agencies on aging as the go-to agencies for enabling older Vermonters to age in the place of their choice, with the support they need and the opportunity for meaningful relationships and active engagement in their communities.

At Senior Solutions, we are enthusiastically looking forward to the coming years. There will be many exciting opportunities ahead for us to become the best at what we do, serve older Vermonters.
