“Memory Café,” Wednesday, May 18th, for Caregivers

| Senior Solutions News

Senior Solutions will host its first Memory Café for caregivers and their loved ones on Wednesday, May 18th from 11am – 1pm at the American Legion in Brattleboro. A Memory Café provides caregivers with the opportunity to socialize with fellow caregivers while their loved ones enjoy a group activity in a supervised non-judgmental setting. For the first half of the event, caregivers will participate in a gathering with other caregivers where they can exchange conversation and resources, while their loved ones engage in activities provided by trained volunteers. Next, all will gather for lunch and socialization. Research shows that Memory Cafés enhance caregivers’ well-being by providing them with an environment filled with acceptance and belonging.

All caregivers and their loved ones are welcome to come to the Memory Café. There is no fee for the event. Senior Solutions plans to host a Memory Café on the third Wednesday of every month at the American Legion in Brattleboro from 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM. If you have any questions or wish to attend, please call Valerie at: 802-338-6578 or email memorycafe@seniorsolutionsvt.org.
