Protecting Our Meals Clients and Volunteers from COVID

| Senior Solutions News

Senior Solutions supports and oversees 13 home-delivered Meals on Wheels Programs and 29 community meals sites provided by local community partners. During this past year, more than 4,700 area seniors relied on these programs – programs which involve a large network of cooks, packagers, delivery drivers, and others.

During the pandemic, it became necessary to implement multiple safety protocols to ensure that all volunteers, staff, and clients were protected, all while meeting an increased need for these meals. This week, thousands of BinaxNOW antigen self-tests are being distributed to all of our meal sites and our six area senior centers. These have been provided to Senior Solutions by the Vermont Department of Health, and will serve as another tool to help protect us all. Please note, these tests are not generally available to the public, but are specifically for use within the meals operations.
