Intergenerational Volunteer Program Launching in July 2023
Senior Solutions announces a new intergenerational project that will launch July 1, 2023. This program will pair adolescents and low-income senior citizens served by Senior Solutions. To assist in the organization of this program, Senior Solutions will be recruiting for help from an AmeriCorps VISTA.
April Outreach Campaign in Dummerston & Newfane
In April we launch another campaign with the goal of making sure that every resident of our communities is food and fuel secure! Senior Solutions is partnering with Evening Star Grange #154 in Dummerston and West River Valley Mutual Aid to help strengthen each household in the West River Valley during the months ahead.

Director’s Note: Community Conversations
Many questions and comments were discussed this past Sunday, when Lead Case Manager Malcolm Hamblett and I spent a couple hours meeting with about 20 community members at The HUB at Weston, a restaurant focused on facilitating community involvement.
NEW: Tai Chi Training being offered
Why take the training to teach Tai Chi? Tai Chi helps with better balance and falls prevention for seniors, along with the fact that Senior Solutions will pay for instructor training and certification in exchange for providing two series of workshops for seniors.
Spotlight on Volunteer Alison Roth
When Alison Roth of Perkinsville heard about the Senior Solutions Home Visitor Program, she wanted to volunteer. Alison, who is 69, learned of the program from a friend who has served as a volunteer with the organization for almost four years.
Tax Assistance Resources are Available
As we move through tax season, you may want to consult with experts. There are resources available to us through our libraries and senior centers. AARP also offers tax aid sites.

March Town Meetings Are Approaching
We all know that February is a short month. This year the Town Meetings are slated for March 7th. While that sounds like a long way off, it is really just around the corner. Do you know who is running for office in your town? Are you registered to vote? Vermont’s Town Meetings are a unique opportunity for each and every voter to have a voice. This is especially important for Older Vermonters.
UVM offers CARERS program for family caregivers
The University of Vermont Medical Center & the UVM Center on Aging offers Coaching, Advocacy, Respite, Education, Relationship and Simulation (CARERS), an evidence based therapeutic group program that enhances the knowledge, skills, and competence of informal family caregivers of people with dementia.
