Beginning on July 12, Senior Solutions staff will be present at the Wardsboro Public Library every second Tuesday of the month from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. to assist area residents with benefit applications and information to help seniors age in the place of choice with the support that they need.

Joint Effort in Orange County 100% Campaign
The “Southeast Orange County 100%” campaign will include a mailing to every household and a dozen drop-in sessions across these towns to assist residents with applications for next winter’s seasonal heating fuel assistance, 3SquaresVT food benefits, electric discounts, Meals on Wheels, and other income and age-driven benefit programs.

Spotlight on the Thetford Elder Network (TEN)
Every Friday morning at 10 a.m. since 2009, a group of intrepid walkers has assembled at the Latham Library for a weekly walk. “We’ve walked through rain, snow, mud, and sometimes even ice,” said Sue Rump, who currently organizes the group. “We organize into slow walkers, fast walkers, and short-distance walkers, and we always have fun. It’s about being healthy, having fun, and camaraderie.”
Farm-to-Family Coupons Available July 1
The State of Vermont will be making a limited number of free coupons available to seniors and those with disabilities for use at designated farm stands and farmer’s markets this season.
Brattleboro Food Coop Names Senior Solutions as “Commitment to Community” Partner
Last month, the Brattleboro Food Coop and Senior Solutions joined forces in recognition of the two organizations’ common dedication to improving the lives of area residents. Every three years, the Springfield Area Community Collaborative, including Springfield Hospital and Springfield Medical Care Systems, conducts a Community Health Needs Survey for our region. The survey helps inform their plans for improving health care services and other community health initiatives.
