Senior Solutions—Council on Aging for Southeastern Vermont, Inc. is a nonprofit, designated Area Agency on Aging. Our community organization has been providing Older Americans Act funded services in Windham and Windsor county to seniors 60 years and older and their family caregivers for over 30 years.
Our mission is to assist older persons to achieve an optimum quality of life, individually and in their communities, through
- advocacy
- information and access to resources, and by
- supporting and working with their families and those close to them.
Our philosophy is to focus on each senior by active listening, with sensitivity to their individual needs, approaching issues in a caring, sensitive, and personal way, and seeking solutions in collaboration with each individual and their family.
We are governed by a representative Board of Directors who meet monthly to set policy, review and approve all financial reports and advocate for elder issues in their own communities and statewide.
Senior Solutions has 32 employees and relies on many volunteers. Some of our services—such as the State Health Insurance program or Information and Assistance—is provided by our trained staff. Other programs such as Senior Nutrition, Legal Services and Transportation are contracted to community partners.
