January & February Memory Café Places, Dates, and Times:
A Memory Café is a wonderfully welcoming place for caregivers and their loved ones who are challenged with forms of dementia or other cognitive disorders. It is a safe and comfortable space where caregivers and their loved ones can socialize, listen to music, play games, and enjoy other appropriate activities.

Many of us occasionally experience some of these traits which can be normal signs of aging. However, if you are concerned for yourself or a loved one, please see a doctor. The sooner we are diagnosed, the sooner we can find resources to help mitigate or slow the progression of dementia or Alzheimer’s.

With the new year, every day brings a little more light into our lives. As Senior Solutions closes out our 50th year, I can’t help but look forward to the longer daylight hours and the opportunities that lie ahead. There are several significant changes on the horizon within the world of services for older Vermonters that are creating exciting opportunities this year. Allow me to share a few of these new opportunities.
Senior Solutions Supports Employing Veterans
On December 19, 2023 Executive Director, Mark Boutwell, signed a Statement of Support for the Guard and Reserve of Vermont. In it Senior Solutions recognize that the Guard and Reserve are essential to the strength of our nation and the well being of our communities.
Nutrition & Wellness Department 2023 Highlights
In 2023, the Nutrition & Wellness team worked to strengthen existing programs and significantly increase opportunities for seniors. Focused outreach campaigns occurred in the Deerfield Valley and in the Brattleboro area, resulting in hundreds of seniors receiving seasonal fuel assistance to help them through the winter. We now staff a satellite office in Wilmington at the “Old Firehouse” twice a month for walk-in assistance.
